Wellbeing sits at the heart of Coolbinia, creating an environment where every student can thrive.

Wellbeing sits at the heart of Coolbinia, creating an environment where every student can thrive.

Promoting wellbeing in early childhood extends beyond creating a safe and nurturing environment; it involves cultivating a sense of belonging, empowering children to explore their curiosities and passions, and nurturing their social-emotional development. It's about laying the foundation for lifelong resilience and holistic growth.

Our tailored Wellbeing program has been purposefully designed to cater to the unique needs of our children, embracing our school values, student agency and positive behaviour approach. A sequential yet proactive and responsive program, it aims to equip our students with the wellbeing knowledge, skills, and strategies to respond confidently and thoughtfully to the demands of their ever-changing world and navigate life's challenges.

The Wellbeing Program is led and supported by;

  • The Associate Principal

  • Teaching Staff

  • School Psychologist, and School Chaplain

  • Individual Learning Staff

  • Year 6 Student Leaders

  • Peer Mentors in our Buddy class program

At Coolbinia we empower every student to flourish by embracing emotional, social, physical and academic wellbeing practices. This approach supports our students to lead lives of impact and purpose. With courage, character, and the desire to make a difference, our students are empowered to achieve their personal best in all they do.

Being known and valued is the cornerstone of every child’s educational journey at Coolbinia. PS Our size means we know their unique strengths, aspirations and personal challenges and value their individuality. Through our Coolbinia Expectations Model every student is challenged to understand and seek their personal best with courage and integrity.

Here at Coolbinia, we emphasise the growth and development of the whole child with wellbeing and learning interwoven in all that we do. We know that learning will flourish if a child feels safe and supported in their school environment that works in partnership with the home. We embed the culture of wellbeing within and across year levels and throughout our wider community.

Embedding wellbeing into Early Learning is paramount for fostering the holistic development of our Kindergarten and Pre-Primary children. We create a nurturing environment that prioritises the emotional, social, and physical aspects of a child’s growth. Teachers play a crucial role by promoting positive relationships, cultivating a sense of belonging and incorporating mindfulness practices.

Our curriculum is designed with a focus on emotional intelligence, resilience, and empathy to enhance the wellbeing of our young learners. Aligning the outdoor and indoor program equally provides opportunities for children to further develop their connections to the natural world, their creative expression, and foster a sense of autonomy and agency.

In Early Learning genuine partnerships are formed with families, children and professionals and a collaborative approach to supporting each child’s learning, development, and wellbeing is paramount.
