Enrol your child at Coolbinia Primary School

Coolbinia is a highly preferred school.
Coolbinia recognises the entitlement of parents to enrol their children into a school of their choice. The following processes outlined in the Education Act and the Department of Education Regulations are used in allocating a place for students.

Education Act.
78. Child of compulsory school age, when entitled to be enrolled at local-intake school
(1) A child of compulsory school age is entitled to be enrolled at a local-intake school if — (a) his or her usual place of residence is in the intake area for that school; and (b) an appropriate educational programme is available for the child at that school.
(2) A child of compulsory school age whose usual place of residence is not in the intake area for a local-intake school is entitled to be enrolled at that school if —
(a) there is available for the child at that school —
(i) an appropriate educational programme; and
(ii) classroom accommodation
Local Intake Schools
The schools around our area are all local intake schools. Those living outside our area will be considered, but we may not be able to accommodate them.
Our Local intake map can be viewed on Schools Online. Please read the streets that are included and excluded. i.e we do not take any students from Wordsworth Avenue.
Department Regulations
For a school with a local intake area, the principal will:
assess all enrolment applications;
enrol eligible students who reside within the local intake area;
assess enrolment applications from outside the local intake area after the application closing date only if there are available places within available classrooms

When lodging your Application for Enrolment you will need to provide:
the child’s birth certificate or Australian passport - overseas passport, visa and/or citizenship documents, if applicable.
an up to date, (no more than 3 months old) Immunisation History Statement which must be obtained from the Australian Immunisation Register (visit the Department of Health for instructions on how to obtain this statement)
2 types of proof of address – these must be current within 3 months and may include a utility bill, tenancy agreement, home internet connection. (Please note that we do not accept a driver’s license, rates notice or water account.)
