Coolbinia Primary is participating in the Department of Education’s Two-way Science initiative, which brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scientific understandings with Western science methodologies. A video produced by CSIRO and the WA Department of Education about our school’s engagement with Two-way Science has just been released. See below.
A Two-way Science mapping unit was conducted in Term 1 with Year 4s as part of their Earth & Space Science studies, while last term the Year 6s enthusiastically participated in the resin unit in Chemical Science. This term the school is conducting Professional Learning on 31 August, with other Two-way Science schools as well as schools keen to learn about the Initiative.
