Year 6 student leaders organised a very successful fundraising program to celebrate Harmony Day this year, focusing on Sustainable Development Goal No. 6, Clean Water. A gold coin donation was requested from students wearing cultural dress or blue clothes (to represent ‘water’). Students also planned, organised and conducted three stalls at lunchtime – fruit kebabs and popcorn, a photo booth, and craft stall. This project was an outcome of Year 5 students attending a youth leadership conference at Parliament House last year. The conference was organised through the United Nations Association of Australia (WA) Global Citizenship Schools Program. This student action resulted in $600 being donated for clean water in Africa and other countries. Congratulations and many thanks to our student leaders and all participants in this special event.
