On Wednesday 19 June, 76 members of the school choir went with Mrs Smith, Ms Holland, Mr Owen and Mrs Redstall to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre to take part in the annual Act-Belong-Commit Meraki School Festival. The Meraki School Festival provides primary and secondary school students with the opportunity to perform on stage in front of a live audience, showcasing their school’s talents and love of performing arts with other schools and communities. Schools create their own story in the different performing categories and work collaboratively to bring their ideas to life.

We entered the show choir category and our theme was ‘self confidence and confident selves’ and the choir performed two songs written by Mrs Smith that included the use of djembe drums and choreography by some of the students themselves. It was a wonderful experience for everyone that took part and we came away with the award for best vocals.
