Welcome to Coolbinia Primary School.
Our school is an Independent Public School set amongst the lush green trees, bushland and open spaces of Coolbinia. It opened in 1955 and is the hub of the local community.
We welcome children into classes from Kindergarten to Year 6. Kindergarten placements are offered to children turning four by June 30th, and these students are educated in our purpose-built Early Learning Centre which was completed in 2012.
In addition to the aforementioned Early Learning Centre, Coolbinia Primary School offers a well-equipped modern library as well as an undercover area, a computer lab, a music room and a number of general classrooms. The school buildings are complemented by a large sporting oval, tennis/basketball courts, a wonderful new nature playground (completed in 2015) and an array of play equipment for students of all ages.
‘Inspiring growth’ is not only our school motto, it is also our focus. Staff work hard to inspire student growth in academic, physical, artistic and social domains. Our school is also well-known for furnishing students with the knowledge, skills and values to embrace and create sustainable living practices.
Students at our school are provided with a plethora of opportunities designed to enrich their learning. These include:
- chess, coding and robotics clubs
- interschool sporting competitions
- school swimming lessons
- before and after school sporting classes (tennis, netball, athletics)
- an annual art exhibition
- an annual science fair
- an annual school concert
- a Year 6 camp.
Parents and community members play an active role in ensuring students are provided with the best possible learning opportunities. We foster an extended-family environment where emphasis is placed upon critical thinking skills, respectful attitudes and success for everyone. Both adults and children are valued for their unique individual qualities and contributions.
I am incredibly proud to be the principal of Coolbinia Primary School, and to inspire a love of learning with students, staff and parents.
