Physical Education & Sport
Physical education and sport programs are delivered to all students at Coolbinia Primary School, from Pre-Primary to Year 6, providing students with the skills needed for confident participation in sport and recreational activities.
A rich and varied sports program is offered, led by the Physical Education Specialist, and supported strongly by all classroom teachers. From Pre-Primary to Year 3, the program aims to foster a love of physical activity. There is a strong emphasis on play with a focus on fundamental movement skills.
From Years 4 to 6, the program shifts towards game play to strengthen and reinforce skill development under game conditions. There are many opportunities for developing sportsmanship, teamwork and fitness.

Students must bring hats, drink bottles and be wearing runners on sports/PE days.
Our school faction colours are Red, Blue, Green and Gold. Children in the same family are placed in the same faction.
Faction t-shirts are available from the Uniform Shop for use on faction sports days.
Coolbinia is a strong performer against networked schools, experiencing a lot of success at Interschool level.

Sports Options (Years 5/6)
All children in Years 5 & 6 have a choice in Term 4 as to which sport option they would prefer. These choices run for four weeks during Term 4. They could involve ice-skating, sailing, archery, surfing and rock climbing. Parents pay a fee covering instruction and transport costs.
In-Term Swimming (PP- Year 6)
Department of Education swimming classes provide swimming lessons for Pre-Primary to Year 6 students. It is conducted during fourth term for two weeks at Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre.
Interschool Sport (Year 5/6)
During Term 2, Coolbinia Primary School compete in an interschool competition in football, netball, soccer and basketball.
